    Medusa might not be the first creature that comes to mind when discussing mythical creatures, but she was once beautiful! Athena supposedly turned her beautiful hair into a nest of hideous snakes as a result of jealousy, and Medusa became the monster she is known as in myths, movies, books, and pop culture.

    You could certainly say that half of this mythical creature is beautiful, and the other half - not so much. Echidna has a woman’s face and upper body, but the lower part of her body is that of a snake.
